The Last Phase

Journey Ends :(  07/06/2013 Its about one and a half month since i was on dalton highway but i can tell you every detail as if it just happened yesterday. The memory refuses to leave and even though i may not be able to go back i can still live with these good memories.  I am sad to wake up, i don't complain anymore to myself of being uncomfortable in the back seat. The whole idea that this is the last day of my trip is saddening. Its always hard to say good byes and i am not the first one to admit this.I wake up at 5:00 AM in the morning, not tired but definitely hungry. Coldfoot camp warm breakfast with scrmbelled eggs and salmon came to my rescue.I refueled my car and i started driving back to fairbanks. The last phase of my journey begins here. Since i had a lot of time at my disposal i decided to do something different. I drove back to koyukuk river near Wiseman ( so basically i drove back 13 miles) parked my car near the bank of the river and sat there waitin...

Arctic Ocean

Arctic Ocean 07/05/2013, temperature : unknown Here we are on the third day of this awesome journey, today you realize that you are the handful of few adventurers who will venture to this place. Wait i mean drive and not fly over the arctic. My time schedule has changed, i woke up at 5:00 AM and could not fall asleep. this is normal in Alaska where the sun just does not set. The best time to use the restrooms and get ready.Since i had  an awesome connectivity i made the best use of it by calling everyone i thought would be excited that i made it to Deadhorse. Its an oil exploration site with oil workers, truckers and lot of huge machines. You almost feel that in a split second suddenly the machines will transform into huge robots. I would not be surprised if  that happens to be true as what a better place for alien landing than ...

Happy Independence day

July 4th, 2013, 4:15 am, 39 degrees Fahrenheit. I have never slept in my car and i had no ten t so i basically spent my entire night twisting  and turning. I had ford escape with a spare tire and tool kit in my trunk on top of it my seat did not recline all the way back. The most uncomfortable night on the trip. I wake up at 4:18 am and just could not fall asleep, it is just too bright outside.I step outside my car and realize what an amazing place this is, i am surrounded by Brooks range. All the cursing i did all night was somehow gone in an instant.  I needed a big breakfast for one i had a long drive ahead from Marion Creek and two i was really hungry. I drove back  to Coldfoot, surprisingly the restaurant open at 5:00 am in the morning, and quickly used the restroom and got myself some coffee and a plate full of eggs, ham, bacon and bread. This was my first warm breakfast after i had left Fairbanks. The scrambled eggs had salmon in it instead of bacon wh...
