Kaaterskill Waterfall Oct, 02, 2016. Aug to Oct are my hiking months and the same is true for many people interested in outdoors, simply because these are the months where the temperature is not too hot and not too cold. Less sweat and more fun. This season is different because i ended up trying a trail in Catskill mountains and not the usual Hudson valley hikes. The Catskill mountains are close to New York City and can be reached within 2 hours by car. Most of the residents of NYC do not own a car and so try to avoid these mountains. However, they are worth the visit especially during the month of October. The mountains are covered with fall colors and the waterfall add the missing beauty to these mountains.
