Erie County Forest

I am not sure what is more beautiful the road to Erie county forest or the hike itself. If you are not hiking/mountaineering/outdoor person this would be one of the options you should explore. The ride itself very scenic , especially in the fall. On the way to the park if you take the country road(which you should), you will come across a range of small hills which look as if an artist has applied pastel colors on the leaves. The drive is smooth and you will come cross over a small town called Holland. I have never been to actual Holland but i believe this is the prettiest town i have visited in the vicinity of Buffalo.

The hike itself is not too long but you can easily get lost as the signs disappear and appear every few feet. You are bound to get confused but stick to a path and stop when you don't see a path sign and then try to spot one. If you don't spot one go to the previous one and try to spot one around you. Trust me its an experience and don't worry you are not in Alaska, its NY and you can always use your cellphone to navigate. In the worst case follow the stream and you will reach somewhere.

The park and hike is very easy and if you vididt the park in the fall it cant get better. At the end of the hike you will encounter some apple trees and they are safe. I have tried and have survived to tell you this tale. The park has two different hikes in opposite directions and now i dont remeber which hike did i commit myself to, but i think it was one on the left.

Salt Flats and Flamingos, India

24th Feb,2014 I'm on my yearly break from NYC financial markets visiting a small town in the southern Gujarat called Bhavnagar. If you Google the name you will come across a wiki page, a university link and some other useless links about Asias ship breaking yard and so on. If you are travelling by road during mid summer you will come across huge piles and piles of white snow like mountains. This is  actually salt that has dried from the sea water that was trapped.
